Population and Ancestry History www.populationhistory.info
Hi, genealogy fans ! Did you ever wonder
how many
ancestors
are perched in your family tree ??
Check out the numbers on
the following pages !
For example, if you could complete your family tree, back to the year 1400, you would find about 4,000,000 ancestors being born around that time.
And, if you could go back to the year 1225, you would have 536,870,912 "great*27 grandparents" being born. Think about it - the total world population back in 1225 was estimated to be only 360,000,000!
But, suppose that you are "100% swedish" . As it turns out, the population of Sweden in the year 1400 was only about 800,000, in about 150,000 families, many of which were already related! This means that there must be considerable overlap in your tree, with many people appearing more than once, due to intermarriage between related persons. It probably means, also, that almost everyone in Sweden in 1400 was an ancestor of yours, or related to you somehow.
